Jax Beach is home to one of the best food scenes on the First Coast: casual beachfront eats, upscale dining rooms, hidden BBQ joints with cult followings, and breakfast spots locals line up for. Whether you’re craving fresh-caught seafood, wood-fired pizza, or a slow Sunday brunch, here’s the actual list we hand to friends when they visit — organized by what kind of meal you’re after.

Trendy Date Night

For a stylish night out with great ambiance and even better food:

• O-ku Sushi — Sleek, modern sushi with fresh fish and craft cocktails. The omakase is worth it if you’re celebrating something. Reservations highly recommended on weekends.
• Refinery — A hidden-gem cocktail bar and restaurant with an inventive menu and intimate atmosphere. Order the seasonal cocktail and whatever the chef is featuring that week.
• Salumeria 104—a rustic Italian trattoria offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Known for their signature salumi boards, house-made pasta, and traditional Italian classics. Plus you can enjoy the highly walkable Neptune Beach Town Center

Fancy Night Out

For celebrations, anniversaries, or just an elevated dinner:

• Eleven South — Cozy yet sophisticated, with incredible seafood and steak options. The wine list is deeper than the size of the room suggests. Get the scallops if they have them.
• Marker 32 — A waterfront classic known for refined coastal cuisine and stunning Intracoastal views. Worth the short drive — try to get a sunset table on the deck.

For a laid-back meal that doesn’t skimp on flavor — most are walkable from our Jax Beach properties:

• Surfer Bar — Lively beachside spot with great tacos and tropical cocktails. The fish tacos are the move; eat outside.
• V’s Pizza — Authentic Neapolitan-style pizza with a crispy, wood-fired crust. Family-friendly and quick — call ahead for takeout on weekends.
• Green Room Brewing — Local brewery with craft beers on tap and a solid menu of pub-style eats. Great spot for adults wanting good food in a relaxed setting.
• Engine 15 Brewing — Another local brewery worth knowing about. Solid food menu + always something new on tap.

Best Brunch

Brunch lovers, rejoice — these are the go-to spots for the best morning (or midday) meals in Jax Beach. Pro tip: most fill up by 10am on weekends, so go early or expect a wait.

• Le Petit Paris — A very popular breakfast and lunch spot in Atlantic Beach. “A refined French cafe offering authentic cuisine centered on experience”
• Jax Beach Brunch Haus — Cozy and eclectic (owner will come out and perform opera!), serving creative, locally sourced dishes. The bottomless mimosa option doesn’t hurt.
• Metro Diner — Family-friendly diner classics. The chicken & pancakes is a destination dish.

Best for the Family

If you’re dining with kids (or a crowd), these spots offer great food in a relaxed setting where no one feels rushed:

• ABBQ Meat & Drink — Technically in Atlantic Beach, but worth the short drive for fantastic BBQ, a lively atmosphere, and a great outdoor space where kids can run while adults enjoy drinks. Brisket and burnt ends are the move.
• Strings on Penman — Great BBQ and live music make this a fun stop for all ages. Live shows most weekend evenings.

Sunset Drinks & Rooftops

You’re at the beach — go watch the sky change colors with a cold drink in hand.

• Casa Marina Penthouse Lounge — Rooftop bar with the best view of Jax Beach. Order an Old Fashioned and pretend you live here.
• Salt Life Food Shack — Fish tacos, oyster shooters, and frozen drinks.
• The Lemon Bar — Loads of outdoor seating, that’s all they have. Drinks, bathing suits, live music. As Florida beachy as it gets. Oceanfront Bliss.

Local Tips & Reservations

• Reservations: Eleven South, Oku Sushi, Refinery, and Marker 32 all need them on weekends — book a week ahead in peak season.
• Walkable from our properties: Casual Eats and Sunset Drinks sections are mostly within walking distance of our Jax Beach Town Center properties — no Uber required.
• Tip the bartender: Jax Beach is a tight-knit hospitality community. A good tip on the first round usually means a better pour on the second.
